BuiltAPI is a low-code data integration & API orchestration platform for in-house innovators.
By applying a people-first approach, we empower internal business users to create a “DIY” ecosystem and accelerate innovation that propels traditional business toward its goals.
Scalability of the BuiltAPI business model is based on the need for effective digital data exchange by all stakeholders of the built environment (urban/real estate, telecom, mobility, loyalty/personal engagement).
In application to business, BuiltAPI makes IT solutions used by companies fundamentally interoperable, extracts digital data out of silos and makes them more portable, and allows retention of data ownership.
Problem
Business digitalization across industries is not fulfilling business expectations.
Existing IT landscape is complex, and the increasing number of new business solutions in the market makes companies confused when selecting the best technology. Solutions are often expensive, buying from startups is risky, and it takes a long time to effectively integrate software, because every new application adds a data silo.
There are no standards which can make data exchange easy and even if applications have open integration interfaces, companies often lack the internal expertise needed to establish an effective ecosystem. Enterprise integration platforms are not suited for the built environment industries, expensive to deploy and maintain.
Inability to quickly access data behind business applications creates gaps in communication between various stakeholders and increases cost of infrastructure (IT, HR, risk management, controlling, processes, resources) necessary to collect and analyze business data for reporting and investment decisions.
Solution

Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) are machine functions that can be executed over the web. REST APIs are increasingly used to integrate (send and receive data sets to and from) individual business applications into a connected ecosystem without a standard data model.
Offering a low-code user interface to business users will make API creation and data exchange less costly and more quick. Adoption of the API management tool will allow companies to create and maintain such an ecosystem by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
API strategy will help control the cost of infrastructure when implementing new software, and enable digital communication across the IT landscape. Increased transparency and understanding of business data will decrease uncertainty in the decision making process, and will move the businesses toward their goals, i.e. optimized and sustainable investment performance of assets under management.
